As a non-profit organization ASC endeavours to keep fees down and while providing quality service. To help in this endeavour ASC holds several fundraising efforts:

• Major Annual Fundraiser
• ASC Teamwear
• Nevada Lottery Tickets
  

Each year the town increases the ice rental by 3-6% and this season in particular we are struggling with the addition of HST to the ice costs. We strive to find ways to cut costs and fundraise to keep programs affordable for the families of our community.  That said we also know that parents are bombarded by fundraisers from schools and other organizations so we try our best to find the most suitable options. 

Major Annual Fundraiser

This year member will be required to participate in the Major Annual fundraiser: The Ontario Skaters Promotional Lottery.

The lottery is one of the easiest fundraisers!  You can sell the raffle tickets to make the $80 back, or sign your name to all tickets for a chance at really great prizes.

Skaters choosing to participate in the lottery will indicate on the registration form and the $80 for 2 booklets of raffle tickets will be included with your registration fees. You can choose to opt out of the Lottery by donating $40 to fundraising.

Prizes for this year's tickets are to be announced. To give you some idea of the types of prizes you can expect in this year's lottery her are the prize list of the 2010 Ontario Skaters' Promotional Contest prizes included:

• Grand prize - 2010 Ford Mustang;
• 2nd prize - entertainment package;
• 3rd prize - Travel;
• 4th prizes - 1 of 5 computer systems;
• 5th prizes - 1 of 5 RESP's

We are happy to announce that a member of our club was an $500 RESP winner in the 2010 draw.

Any members who wish to sell additional tickets to help us have a more successful campaign can email a request to info@actonskatingclub.com

There are no reimbursements on unsold tickets. Members are welcome to sign off the tickets for themselves. The due date for Ticket stubs to be returned to the club for entry will posted when the information arrives to the club.

ASC reserves the right to change fundraising programs at any time.

Developed to generate team enthusiam more than raise funds. Order forms will go home in the fall and orders will be received before Christmas for those who like to purchase items for gifts. The program includes warm up jackets, pants, scarves, bags, and more, all embroidered custom with Acton Skating Club and the skaters name.

Nevada Lottery Tickets

ASC has a lottery license purchased through OLG specifically for raising funds for the club. The Nevada Lottery Tickets are sold at Royal Jug City in town. We appreciate the contributions for the club when you purchase these tickets. The Nevada tickets have helped us purchase helpful equipment to help our skater development. Recent purchases made possible include: Jumping harness and new sticks and pylons for power skating.

Every Skate Canada skating program complements the others and allows for unrestricted movement and development through the system. All programs are taught by professional coaches certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and they are offered at member clubs and skating schools across the country.
