PreStar is recommended for skaters working on Stage 3 CanSkate

STAR 1 in an extension of CanSkate and athletes will begin to work on their STAR Assessments in Skills, Dance and Freeskate
What's Included
The PreStar/STAR 1 program runs similar to the CanSkate program with a WarmUp, Lesson Time, Group Activity and CoolDown. Athletes will continue to develop the Fundamental skills with a focus on Figure Skating skills. The Lesson time will include circuits and stations as well as class time and group lessons. Skaters will be informed if and when they are ready to perform an assessment, invoices will be sent to the families.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that StarSkaters Registered in the PreSTAR program skate TWO nights. The second session may be a CanSkate or PreSTAR session.
Skaters Registered for the StarSkate 1 Program MUST Skate TWO nights. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that Thursday night be chosen as STAR specific curriculum will be focused on, with Tuesday or Friday as their second session.
The PreSTAR/STAR 1 session includes off ice athletic development and warm up.

What's Included
STAR 2+ program consists of a Warm Up, Lesson time, Group Activity/Creative or Synchro and a cool down. Skaters will work in group lessons, classes, stations, individual time and supervised practice. Coaches will create a lesson schedule ensuring skaters are getting all the development time they need. Skaters will be informed if and when they are ready to perform an assessment, invoices will be sent to the families.

Notes: **The Admin/Skate Canada Fee is made up of the $65 compulsory Skate Canada fee for skaters registering in Skate Canada sanctioned clubs plus an additional $25 to help cover Acton Skating Club's administrative and operational costs. Skate Canada, the national governing body responsible for the development and administration of skating in Canada, is the largest skating association in the world. With skating programs for athletes of all ages, offered at clubs and skating schools across the country, Skate Canada is an association dedicated to providing every Canadian the opportunity to learn life skills while experiencing the power, strength and creativity of one of Canada's premier sports. **Skaters from other home clubs are welcome to skate an additional night at Acton Skating Club. The $65 Skate Canada fee will be refunded if it has been paid at another club. Please pay the program fee in full and contact president@actonskatingclub.ca for information regarding additional action required. |
