STARSkate
Juniors

Requirements

  • PASSED Stage 5 CanSkate.
  • Private coaching is available and should be considered. Coaches are contacted directly, please see our coaches page for a coach listing, their qualifications, and contact information.

 

What's Included

Our STARSkate Juniors program provides both an extension of CanSkate and introduction to figure skating. The focus is building on the fundamentals, forward, backward, turn and stop as well as introducing figure skating elements, jumps and spins.

Each session consists of a 10 minute warm up, 15 minutes skills lesson, 15 minutes dance lesson and 20 minutes personal development practice time.

Private lessons are available. A private coach adds individualized attention to the skaters experience and the focused attention helps them excel in the program. Please make arrangements with the coach directly. Please see the coaches page for coach contact information.

Cost

Full season $480 per night

 

Additional costs:
Admin and Skate Canada Fees
(once per year) $40
Volunteer Deposit
(Once per year. Earn back through year with participation in events) $100
Raffle Tickets Fundraiser $80
(Once per year. Earn back by selling the tickets)

Acton Skating Club has partnered with Georgetown Skating Club. ASC members are welcome to register for an additional day with GSC. ASC coaches are welcome during their sessions. Check with your private coach for their availability. You will need to register with Acton first to ensure testing with the club. Please contact us for details on how to register. GSC pricing applies to their sessions.

STARSkate Intermediates

Requirements

  • Skater must have passed one Preliminary Dance test and Preliminary Skills. Please check with your private coach or the test chair if you have questions regarding your current levels.
  • Skater must have private coach. See our coaches page for contact information. Skater must have a private coach in place by October 26th.
  • Minimum 2-day per week membership.

What's Included

Independently working on dances, skills, and Freeskate under the direction of private coach.
Includes 10 minute group/ stroking lessons and independent practice time.

What's Included

Skaters independently work on their dances, skills, and freeskate under the direction of private coach. Includes 10 minute stroking/power group lesson.
