Who we are

Acton Skating Club is a non-profit organization and member of Skate Canada providing skating instruction to our community. We run our programs at the Acton Arena, located in the Town of Halton Hills. The club organization is made up of volunteer board members, volunteer committees and hired (on contract basis) professional coaches.

We are in need of a new President for the 2026/27 season!

There is a lot of work to do to keep our club running, and since ASC is a not-for-profit corporation, all of it is done by volunteer parents like you who work full-time jobs and run their kids around to other programs. You'll notice there are several holes in the chart above...and the biggest hole of all will be the one created by Channing Wilson's departure for the 2026/27 season.

The President role requires about 5-10 hours of volunteer administrative work each week, year round. Acton Skating Club owes Channing a debt of gratitude for her many years of service!!! We are also in critical need of someone with fundraising experience to devote time and attention to building cash reserves - this could be part of the President role or filled separately as a Fundraising Chair role.
