Helmets will continue to be worn until skater successfully completes Stage 6 of our Canskate program. Figure skates are highly recommended.
The program itself consists of 1 hour of full ice which includes a guided warmup, group lesson and practice stations. During this time skaters will learn the fundamental techniques of figure skating in a fun, positive and high energy environment. At the end of the season ribbons and badges are handed out with a special victory lap for skaters who have successfully completed Stage 6 of our Canskate program and no longer require a helmet.
