Why do we do fundraisers?

Program fees cover the cost of renting the ice from the town; the cost of coaching time; and the cost of bare-minimum administrative costs, like website hosting and external accounting support.

That means any extras we can purchase or offer - equipment that helps our skaters, like the harness; new iPads for playing music; hosting performance events - are limited by the amount we can raise through fundraising.

There is a position on our Board for planning and overseeing fundraising activities. It is currently filled by Coach Vicki, but we'd love to have a parent take this on. Email president@actonskatingclub.com for more info.

FlipGive

If you shop online regularly, consider joining FlipGive for Acton Skating Club! It's easy: open the app; choose your favourite retailers to shop with (Well.ca; Voila; Starbucks; GAP); shop that retailer's website as you normally would; and earn cash back for our club!

FlipGive has helped thousands of teams raise millions of dollars. If we all contributed this way on an ongoing basis...maybe one day we won't have to run traditional fundraisers anymore!!

Next Planned Fundraiser

We aim to run one fundraiser in each season. Our fall season fundraiser will once again be with Terra Cotta Cookies. This year we hope to use fundraising dollar for upgraded CanSkate and PowerSkate Equipment and to be able to offer a performance opportunity for STARSkaters.

The selling period will run from November 3-17th and the pick up date will be Thursday, November 4th

Details will be sent by email to members in October and posted on our display board in the change room hallway.
