Why do we do fundraisers?

We plan for program fees to cover the cost of renting the ice from the town; the cost of coaching time; and the cost of bare-minimum administrative costs, like website hosting and external accounting support. 

That means any extras we can purchase or offer - equipment that helps our skaters, like the harness; new iPads for playing music; hosting performance events - are limited by the amount we can raise through fundraising. We also rely on fundraising to fill the funding gap when unexpected costs arise or when registration fees come in short of expectation.

...or 12 other terrific prizes! This winter we are participating in Skate Ontario's 2026 Promotional Contest. You can purchase tickets at the arena all season for $2/each OR purchase a book of 20 tickets to sell to your family and friends. We are hoping to sell 50 books of tickets through the season! If you purchase a book to sell to others, you can be refunded for any unsold tickets that are returned to us by the end of the season. You will also need to return all completed tickets stubs for any that you sell by the send of the season so they we can send them in to Skate Ontario to be entered into the draw, which will take place on Friday, June 5th at noon.
